AFRICA

Nick Brandt used a Pentax 6711to capture this photograph of an elephant in Africa. Brandt captured this photo graph because he was afraid a man was out to kill africa and these animals. By capturing these photos Brandt hopes to show off the true beauty and nature of Africa and its creatures. This is my favorite photo because the elephant is my favorite animal, i love a black an white effect on any photo and its a great photo of the creatures details and such like the creases within its skin.

Academics Shoot Reflection

1) I faced creativity challenges that i overcame with the very simple objects in a school and by capturing these rules actively showing in a workplace.

2) The avoiding mergers rule puzzled me for the longest until i was welcomed by a student who gave me the bright idea to capture him next to a chalk board the same color as his shirt. To top it off we through another girls green scarf on him for the photo.

3) Id capture a different photo for the rule of framing.

4) Id keep most of my photos as they are all perfect with showing the rules.

5) Line will always be the easiest to achieve since lines are everywhere.

6) The hardest to capture will be the rule of thirds as i am always puzzled by it.

7) Im not totally clear not the rule of thirds and i can go back to my notes post to perhaps look it over again to get a better understanding.

Part 2

Line: I followed the rule very well by displaying the lines that run along an air conditioner unit. The subject is an air conditioner unit in a classroom. The object is clear to people in the photo. I followed the rule well so nothing needs to be improved upon.

Framing: I followed this rule by shooting a photo through a triangular metal frame capturing the class through this frame. The subject is the class in the frame which is the metal triangle. The object is clear as the frame is blurred for effect. To improve next time perhaps i could capture the frame clearly.

Simplicity: I followed this rule well with the simplicity of a heart design on a student's back pack. The heart design on the backpack is the subject. The picture is crystal clear and you can easily tell the pattern and simplicity of the photo and design. Perhaps next time i won't capture the buckle to keep it as a basic hearts only.

Rule of thirds: For rule of thirds i captured multiple folders cataloged with one off in the distance and they are running sideways, capturing it very well. The folder tags with the periods labeled are the subjects. The tags are clear in the middle as others are blurred for a great effect. Nothing needs to be improved on this photo.

Avoiding Mergers: For avoiding mergers i followed the rule excellent by showing a student with a green t shirt and scarf blending in with the chalk board behind him. The greens are the subject of the photo, the merger easily recognized. The picture is very clear and nothing needs to be improved upon.

Balance: For balance i captured the symmetry of a human body excellent. The subject ( the teacher ) is standing within the middle of the room teaching her students as i capture her body's symmetry. The object is very clear and this rule does not need to be improved upon.

Academics shoot preview

I put this photo as the " ACTION " because this photo displays a chemical reaction from to components. Its chemistry at its finest.

I put this photo as the " MOST INTERESTING " because i think the photograph displays a chemical change that shows off a lovely purple color. This photo appealed to me with the mysterious mist floating from what looks like a blow torch.

This photo tells the " BEST STORY " in my opinion because it shows the strength and bond in mankind between one human and another, this photo displays food being handed out to those who are unfortunate and cannot obtain it themselves. Or perhaps this photo displays a team of people helping with some kind of natural disaster relief by giving food to those who lost everything.
I picked this photo because i found the sphere in the middle of the photo to be strange and interesting. The rules of photography that are evident in this photo are balance which is the balance of mother nature in the photo as well as shape because the sphere is a main shape in this photo.

I could take photos like the ones i saw today as children are outside participating in some activity, or while a band or team is practicing or hearing a inspirational speech. Id like to visit my chemistry classroom to perhaps capture an experiment in a shot. To get amazing photos like the ones I've seen today i will use creativity and the " normal " of life to obtains peculiar view of seeing things from a side not seen before.
